Here is some more of that conversation. Oh yeah, we were driving around during the previous conversation. Were looking for a place for a quick drink.
P: Well? How many times per week?
Me: I am not telling you!
P: Why not? I am just curious.
Me: Erm.....times a week. (sorry, not going to give the number here)
P: Does that mean every time you meet up?
Me: No. It's like 80% of the time or something like that. I still can't believe that you haven't had sex with your wife in 3 months. That's so long ago!!
P: We are just busy.
Me: When the sex goes, usually everything else does too.
Silence from P. I decided not to press him further about that. But now I wonder if this is the longest period of abstinence. Maybe it's normal for them to go so long without connecting physically?
I don't think so. He seems satisfied even though he hardly spends time with his wife. He says that they are comfortable with that.
ReplyDeleteHe thinks time is running out for me to get hitched or he wants me to have a "5" rating marriage as well. Ha.
ReplyDeleteIn part 1 of the conversation, my friend said he gave his marriage a "5" on a scale of 1 to 10.'
ReplyDeleteSounds very average to me.
Well, I think it's not possible to be perfect and have a 10 even though that's what people should be striving for. I guess I think that I can always do better, so no 10.
ReplyDeleteDon't you think you deserve more than 3. That's pretty low.
ReplyDeleteActually, I am a very logical pragmatic person most of the time. But sometimes emotions get in the way, so logic does go out the window.
ReplyDeleteRating a relationship on a scale from 1 to 10....
ReplyDeleteThere is no such thing as one rating. Things change from day to day, week to week, month to month, year to year. At some point, it's a 10. It's a 3. It's a 5. It's an 8. That's normal.
My friend who always rates his marriage at 5 (would like to find out how his wife rates their marriage) says 5 means everything is in balance. He thinks if its more than that, then things will eventually crash and fall.
ReplyDeleteGuess there are days when things are bad. i.e. if you have a big argument and then it could be 1.
Hopefully, you are aren't always stuck on 1 all the time.
Guess it comes down to how much suffering I am willing to tolerate. It its is a consistent 1, then I would want to give up. What's the point. I can be at least a 7 on my own.
ReplyDeleteDo all couples have periodic urges to kill each other?
ReplyDeleteI am fairly good tempered, so I don't explode and want to murder anyone. On the other hand, if someone has a really annoying habit or characteristics, then I would probably lose my patience at times.
ReplyDeleteIf I can't tolerate it anymore, he's history!
