Friday night ramblings

Saw the new German movie called Napola. About a school for the Hitler elite. Was good. My poor companion was exhausted though. Too much exercise, I guess. He was kind of limping. Hope he isn't overdoing it. Maybe I am just jealous. I wish I could go to the gym more often.

Before the movie, we had dinner. We talked about the lack of friendly people in this country. If I want to talk to any Singaporean, I have to make the first move. Otherwise, no one would ever approach me. I don't look intimidating or anything either.

It's the culture here or the lack of interest in getting to know other people. Not many people here can be bothered to make the effort. It's kind of sad. Everyone is so self absorbed. But I shouldn't criticize so much. I am probably like that at times too.

I am so pathetic. I get excited if a complete stranger even says hi or asks for the time. Depressing.....

I guess I miss the days when people actually bothered to say hello to me on the street or at bus stops even though I don't know them. Everyone is so busy these days with work or whatever that they forget that there are other people out there.

Yep, the newer places are less personal and people don't bother to meet each other. I always say hi to people in the elevator etc.
