Boring Ms Singapore Universe

Did anyone watch the show? I only saw the ending to see who won and what type the judges liked. It's all subjective, of course.

Actually, I kind of guessed the winner just by reading the papers. It kept mentioning the woman with the biggest assets, so it's no surprise when she won.

I feel sorry for her. The press kept raving about her breasts and not much else. On the other hand, she gets cash and prizes....and maybe she will become nominated MP one day just like another former pageant winner.

I did notice something weird. The finalists didn't seem to care if they won or not. Even the hosts sounded so fake and bored.

It's a BEAUTY pageant -- who are the organisers kidding, going on about brains? And the really pretty (and intelligent) ones will never join because they (are obviously smart enough to) know they can go better places without having to participate in beauty pageants.

Maybe they need to come up with better prizes. Other countries usually give huge 6 figure scholarships, cars and stuff like that.....maybe appealing to the material sides of things would help? Then again, the really smart and ambitious ones would be doing something else and not entering beauty pageant.

But to be honest, I didn't think any of them were that good-looking. I saw better lookers on the bus.

Hm...why is it that when a woman comments on another woman's looks, people say she is jealous? Men comment on women's looks all the time! Double-standard.

People could argue that in a materialistic world, the better the prizes, the higher the motivation. But that does not mean we will get better candidates. Maybe just greedier ones?

Erm...men tend to think women are just making noise or being catty if they say another woman is not attractive.

In the end, beauty is in the eye of the beholoder.

Then I have to say that Ms. Singapore Universe does not have a chance of becoming Ms. Universe.

Why can't they find better contenders? Or does winning not really matter?
