What is customer service? Does it exist?

Some collegues were talking about the terrible customer service in this country. I have to agree with them. Workers don't know how to deal with customers' problems or complaints.

Customer service is so much better in Canada and the US. Workers are polite and try to help even if they aren't sure what to do. Here, they just say no and ignore you.

I have to really get confrontational to get what I want or any kind of response from workers. How does the government expect more tourists to come if the service here sucks?

What will happen when the casino opens here? Are they going to have to hire foreigners to work there? Are they going to train people to provide good customer service?

There's another problem here. The never-ending cycle of bad service and bad customers. If the customers are rude, then the staff tends to be rude too.

On the other hand if I say "thank you", how come there is no reply from the clerk? Shouldn't they also reply politely? I never had this problem in other countries. They always say thank you back.

Someone actually said thank you to me. The cashier at the shop and save. Yippee! There's hope yet. However, I think this was an exception. Most other places don't say anything. They just take my money.

Unreal: Why do you want to leave?

No, the cashier was definitely Chinese Singaporean.

I will try to remember my comment for your blog and post it again. Maybe in the the next days. I think it was about people not having to change if they get into a relationship. They shouldn't have to.

Small changes in behaviour are usually required. But I think any changes to someone's personality is unacceptable. If you don't like it, then shove off! I am not going to change who I am just to date some guy.

But some people might say I am uncooperative or have a negative attitude. I just don't compromise on certain things.

I think it's still terrible. You should like someone the way the are. Not because you think they can be someone else! It's ridiculous. It's so insulting to the guy too.
