Chicken Soup

Had a sore throat. Might be coming down with a mild cold. Made chicken soup with all of the funky Chinese herbs. Don't know what most of them are called.

Here are the funky Chinese herbs that went into the soup.

Here are the wolfberries and slices of ginseng that went into the soup.

The chicken...

Here is a shot of the soup cooking on the stove.

So everything had to cook for 3 hours. Then add some salt and it's done!

Felt much better after drinking it. Highly recommended if you are ever sick.

You can do it! I just bought one of those packets with all of the herbs already in it. You can get them in the grocery store or any Chinese herb place. The herbs are already measured out, so you use all of it.

You just have to rinse them with some cold water. Throw them into a big pot with 6 cups of water with a whole chicken or chicken pieces. Boil and then let it sit on the slow cooking slowly for 3 hours. Keep an eye on it in case it boils again. It might spill over. When it's done, the liquid would be half of what it was. Add salt and serve.

That's it. Give it a try. It's not as hard as you think. I like making tonic soup like once a month.

Question: How do I archive some of my older postings? I want to store the old ones somewhere on my blog where others can't read them.

Good luck with making the soup. Sucks that there is no way to archive....Thanks anyways.
