Being Sedentary

Have things to do, but don't feel like doing any of them. Can't seem to get myself motivated to do some writing. Been lying on the couch in front of the TV too much. Probably losing brain cells from doing that.

Must get myself going......or.....try again tomorrow.

How do you get yourself to do something when you don't want to???

Well, you have some choices to make. It sounds like you want to feel motivated to do something.

    1. Make lists of things you need or want to do. Write them down. One list is for long-term goals (life long goals, 10 years down the road etc) ,second list is for medium-term goals, and third list is for short-term goals. (Today, tomorrow, this weekend, next month)

    2. Prioritize them; decide on time frames. By what date will you have accomplished these goals?
    Write it all down.

    3. Make it a point to keep checking back to these lists. You can make this a journal - writing about how you've accomplished these goals, struggles, etc.

This won't work unless you're motivated to accomplish, of course.
You may not feel like doing something, but you can make a choice about doing it. You may need to force yourself to do it. Afterwards, you'll feel a sense of accomplishment - a positive feeling.

If getting yourself to do anything is a problem, then depression is likely the issue. Anti-depressants help a lot.

    Also, try doing something new.

Good luck! I wish you well.

I think I was just feeling lazy. Decided that I was going to get up early today and write all morning which I did I(with breaks here and there) and will finish tomorrow. So getting there....So now I am going to get out of the house and get some exercise. Yippee!
