Open Society

Lots of news about how Singapore should be a more "open society." What does that mean? More freedom of expression? Allowing gay parties? No censorship of movies and TV shows?

The government keeps saying that the conservative majority are not ready for those kinds of changes. But I think people will adapt to change. Would total chaos really break out if there was more freedom of expression? Not likely.

Besides there is too much security for anything like that to happen here. Heh heh.

Well....at least there is less censorship of movies these days. But I agree with Catherine Lim who wrote that if we don't start to open up and become a real democracy, society will stagnate.
