Goodbye 2006

It is New Year`s eve. Another year has passed. There are so many things that I wanted to do, but didn`t have time. Maybe next year will be better. Only two more courses left in my Masters program. Then, freedom. Feel like shouting. FREEDOM!

Thinking about what new things I would like to try. Fun things. Different things. Things that I have been interested in but haven`t gotten around to doing them. Guess lots of people are like that....wish they did this or that.

Merry Christmas

Many people buy presents and celebrate Christmas for the wrong reasons. Christmas is more than just exchanging gifts.

More Marriages

Weird. Lately, there has been a ton of my friends (friends who have been single for ages) who have gotten married. There is even one Japanese lady who is in her late fifties who got married for the first time. She never dated when she was younger. Her mother died when she was young and she had to take care of her father and younger brothers. Good for her. Maybe there is hope for me yet.

On the other hand, I kind of like my freedom. Once you get married, you become a team. You can't just make decisions by yourself and only think of yourself. I don't know if I would be a good compromiser. I have some definite ideas on things and my own routine.

Decorations Galore

The decorations on Orchard are getting worse and worse. This year, there are some ugly Christmas fountain and tree things at some of the junctions. And those gold bird-like things hanging from the trees are horrid too. Tacky, tacky, and tacky.

What happened to good taste? Don't they know less is more?

Winter Clothes

I had to buy some winter clothes because I am going overseas for winter holidays. I actually bought a coat and two sweaters. Weird. Guess they can be used over and over, so it's not a waste of money.

But I did feel a bit silly buying a coat here. However, there is a ton of winter clothes in the stores right now. Coats, hats, scarves, and even leather gloves. Guess I am not the only one going someplace cold for winter.

Hope I don't freeze. Must try not to complain about being cold. To be honest, anything below 25 is cold for me now.
